2nd Chance Negotiations of Fair Oaks California, doing business under several names, was served a desist and refrain order on March 24th by the California DOC. Presumably they saw this coming because they managed to start a new front, in the same month they were served the papers, using a free Go Daddy site named www.asupermod.com, registered by .... who else, 2nd Chance Negotiations. They have also continued to communicate with banks despite being served papers forbidding them to do so. While Go Daddy has been made aware that this site is a scam, they have done nothing to combat it. As long as they can generate ad revenue, who cares right? They do have a handy form to report spam, but no apparent way to easily report abuse. While Superior Properties and 2nd chance (one in the same) claim to be specialists in loan modification, not only are they not licensed to perform modifications or refinances they have collected payments from thousands of homeowners ($2,000 - $3,000) with the promise of negotiating with banks to lower mortgage payments. They have returned nothing. In most cases they advise customers (also known as "marks") to not contact the bank for fear of undermining all their important work. In the meantime the homeowner doesn't answer the phone, doesn't communicate with the bank and 2nd Chance or Superior Properties continue to sit on their asses collecting thousands of dollars to do nothing. Both of the government web site www.makinghomeaffordable.gov and www.financialstability.gov, while well meaning offer little information to educate and inform homeowners about the plan. Their advice is to contact the lender. In most cases, the same lender that screwed you to begin with and isn't going to be all that forthcoming with information that may help you lower your payments. Google is also guilty of helping in this shitheadery, by allowing paid search result with names similar to those of the government web sites to appear in the top search results. Badbizfinder has some stuff about the company, but they have proved unreliable in returning e-mails or responding to any request for help. Here's a |
