The McCain campaign warned that things were going to get ugly. They made it pretty clear that Obama was in the lead, they were scared, maybe a little desperate, and they were going to have to amp it up.
Palin linked Obama to “Known Terrorists” in a recent speech. An excerpt from the Washington Post is posted below.

“Now it turns out, one of his earliest supporters is a man named Bill Ayers,” Palin said.

“Boooo!” said the crowd.

“And, according to the New York Times, he was a domestic terrorist and part of a group that, quote, ‘launched a campaign of bombings that would target the Pentagon and our U.S. Capitol,’” she continued.

“Boooo!” the crowd repeated.

“Kill him!” proposed one man in the audience.

In a similar rally McCain asks, “Who is Obama?” and someone yells, “Terrorist!”

Here’s the clip:

You know who else has rallies? Nazis have rallies. The Klan has rallies. And they yell “Kill.”

But wait, there’s more.

Not once did either of these irresponsible thugs address those comments. Not once did either of them call those outbursts inappropriate. Not once did they try to calm people down. McCain gave the same blank stare he always does. The same one Bush gives when horrific things happen.

And Palin? Palin just kept right on going like she was at a hockey game with other hockey moms cheering for her rowdy kids. Too wrapped up in herself to realize that when people yell, “kill” maybe things have gone a little too far.

The McCain campaign hasn’t made any comment on this. No, they’re allowing this to go on. I guess if you can’t beat ‘em kill ‘em. McCain knows exactly what he’s doing - they both do. This isn’t just dirty politics, this is dangerous riot inciting propaganda. It’s a level of shitheadery we haven’t seen in a long time.

Here’s a little extra, from Keith Olbermann.

Forget Nigeria, this one’s even better.

Dear American:
I need to ask you to support an urgent secret business relationship with a transfer of funds of great magnitude.
The new e-mail hoax:
I am Ministry of the Treasury of the Republic of America. My country has had crisis that has caused the need for large transfer of funds of 800 billion dollars US. If you would assist me in this transfer, it would be most profitable to you.
I am working with Mr. Phil Gram, lobbyist for UBS, who will be my replacement as Ministry of the Treasury in January. As a Senator, you may know him as the leader of the American banking deregulation movement in the 1990s.
This transaction is 100% safe.
This is a matter of great urgency. We need a blank check. We need the funds as quickly as possible. We cannot directly transfer these funds in the names of our close friends because we are constantly under surveillance. My family lawyer advised me that I should look for a reliable and trustworthy person who will act as a next of kin so the funds can be transferred.
Please reply with all of your bank account, IRA and college fund account numbers and those of your children and grandchildren to wallstreetbailout@treasury.gov so that we may transfer your commission for this transaction. After I receive that information, I will respond with detailed information about safeguards that will be used to protect the funds.
Yours Faithfully Minister of Treasury Paulson

Thanks Alan

Now I’m not a big fan, but I have to give Newt some credit. It’s not often you hear a politician come out against their own. In this case, however, it’s necessary. Every once in a while someone shows some balls and some concern for the greater good and does the job they were hired to do.

Here’s the interview

This is really something to watch.

Seems to me from reading this that our reward, as taxpayers, for getting screwed, is that we’re going to get, well, screwed.

I’m getting a little tired and pissed off at douche bags being bailed out and basically rewarded for being, well, douche bags.

I’d like to think that if I bilked millions of people out billions of dollars, borrowed from myself, lied to customers and corporations, that someone would quite simply take me out back and shoot me. That though is what keeps from doing those things. If, on the other hand, someone said, “Well, you made a few mistakes, here’s a check,” and patted me on the ass, I might just be tempted to do it again.

In addition, I’m partly paying to support this decission and I’d like to know what I stand to gain from this? Because if it’s nothing. I mean really nothing and that’s what it looks like I’m being asked to swallow, then I say no deal.
